US House 5th District July 2 2021 Update

Foxx Report

As we enter the holiday weekend, it’s important that we pause alongside family, friends, and neighbors to reflect on the freedoms that we hold so dear. I have always held the belief that Independence Day is a day of profound reflection – a time when we recognize the freedoms that are bestowed upon us as Americans that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. In fact, we should strive to do that every single day. That’s a fundamental part of what it means to be an American.

The freedoms that are found in America are sacred, and they must be revered. Upholding and protecting that reverence means teaching the next generation of men and women that loving America is not a radical idea. Respecting the flag is not a radical idea. Singing the national anthem and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance are not radical either. It’s incumbent upon each of us to instill those values in our children and grandchildren. That’s how freedom in this country has carried on over the course of centuries.

We are blessed to wake up every day in the greatest country in the entire world, and we should never take it for granted. As we gather this Sunday in a spirit of fellowship, take time to reflect on our freedoms, how far this wonderous country has come and the prices that have been paid to protect and preserve the freedoms that we hold so dear. I love America, and I will always stand up for the values and freedoms that we cherish. While some may seek to trample on our way of life, I’ll always fight to defend it.

My Latest Interview

I joined Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council recently to talk about the dangers of critical race theory, and how the far left is pushing for a full rewrite of America’s history and an all-out campaign to indoctrinate students across this country. As Tony and I discussed, this is one of the biggest issues the country is facing right now, and it’s up to us to speak up, speak out, and share the facts on critical race theory. If we remain silent, this radical push to overhaul public education and erase America’s history will become even more swift and emboldened.

ICYMI: My Op-Ed with State Senator Carl Ford

Be on the lookout for a new scam that’s already underway, and this time the target is child tax credits. Recently, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that qualified recipients of child tax credits would soon receive direct deposits, paper checks or debit cards. As you may have guessed, scammers are seizing upon this opportunity to defraud families. Below are a few tips directly from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that can help you, or someone you know, avoid these scammers:

  • Government agencies like the IRS or Social Security Administration will not call, text, or email you.
  • Do not give out any personal information, like social security numbers, bank account information, or credit/debit card numbers.
  • Eligibility requirements and payment disbursements are monitored by the IRS only.

As always, when someone is requiring payments by gift card, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency, it is likely a scam.

Quote of The Week

“Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity.”

-Herbert Hoover
